But if swsthebest1994 (apparently swsthebest was taken) is not full of it, the Mclaren P1 lapped the ring in 6.47 minutes. Hmmm... I would like to see the 918 sell out now (it probably will still, i have no money, what would I know)

The storyline of most of porsche's victories at Le Mans is as follows - They're never the fastest, they are just the terminators of the racing world. Completely unstoppable. They typically go longer on a tank of gas and are kinder on the tires than the rest of the field so they win in the pits and on reliability. It would be un-porschelike to be#1 in raw speed. I guarantee you could drive the 918 longer around the ring than you could in the P1 before needing fuel or tires or repairs.

umm... Kerb weight of 1640 KG's not even god could help those tyres... plus these cars arent race cars, their appeal is in the numbers, and as many journalists have pointed out, the 918 impressive yes, is simply playing in a different league than the P1 and laFerrari

Porsche > God. You are forgetting this. You are also beginning to upset some of them. You've been warned. They can not be stopped and show no mercy....Actually that is false but I needed a transition for a cool picture. Rodriguez's #2 917 in the 1971 12h of sebring that finished 4th despite a tangle with a ferrari that inconvenienced Rodriguez and destroyed the ferrari 512.
